From 1999 to 2019, Siplast was involved in numerous projects to restore the roofing system of New York City’s iconic Empire State Building. The assemblies included the use of Teranap, our SBS-modified bitumen waterproofing membrane, and various types of overburden.
The project started with the 6th floor, at the footprint of the building. In this application, special reinforced pedestals and pavers were installed over the Teranap system. Siplast also waterproofed over 10 other floors, including a green roof on the 81st floor.
